Dr. Toney was born an Indiana native, reared of farming parents at Williamsburg, Indiana, graduated from Kentucky Mountain Bible College and Indiana Wesleyan University as a Theology major and Pre-medicine minor.
After graduate studies in church history at Wheaton College, he was ordained a minister in the Wesleyan Tabernacle Association at God’s Bible School, Cincinnati, Ohio and served with Compassion Inc. and Holt Adoption Agency in Korea as orphanage inspector a caseworker. He was allowed admission to Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul where he obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree.
He enlisted in the US Army as a Private and was discharged as Captain, Medical Corps after 20 years. He completed his family practice residency at Prince George Medical Center in Maryland.
He provided family with OB services in Marion, Indiana for 13 years prior to moving to Carmel, and was employed by Unity Physician Group in Bedford and Martinsville Emergency Department and Immediate Care in Indianapolis for the past 3 years. Dr. Toney is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Physicians and a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.
